TS Galaxy got their first point of the Betway Premiership season after a 1-1 draw against ten-man Marumo Gallants on Saturday afternoon.
Galaxy made only one change after their narrow win over Chippa United in the Carling Knockout, as Lindokuhle Mbatha was recalled.
Gallants, similarly, did not tamper with the side that edged Polokwane City in the Carling Knockout, as Mbulelo Wagaba was the only change.
The game got off to a quick start as chances were falling for both sides but they lacked accuracy in front of goal.
However, the game started to be tactical midway into the first stanza as Monde Mphambaniso fancied his chances for Gallants with a strike from range that sailed over the crossbar.
Dan Malesela's charges had a better chance seven minutes before the interval after Wagaba had a shot in the box smothered by goalkeeper Ira Tape.
Siwelele Sa Marumo were reduced to ten men just before the break after Edgar Manaka was red-carded for a dangerous tackle on Puso Dithejane.
The Rockets capitalized on their numerical advantage ten minutes into the second stanza after Samukelo Kabini fired them ahead with a strike in the box from a cross by Dithejane.
Malesela needed experience in midfield just after the hour-mark to fill the void left by Manaka, as Xola Mlambo replaced Sekela Sithole.
Mlambo made an immediate impression, as he levelled matters for Gallants against his former side two minutes after coming on with a close-range strike from a set-piece situation.
Sead Ramovic's men gained the upper hand after that as 15 minutes before time Lindokuhle Mbatha drew a great save out of goalkeeper Washington Arubi.
Arubi kept Gallants in the game again a few minutes later after he kept out a downward header by Nkosikhona Radebe.
Siwelele Sa Marumo defended in numbers in the dying minutes and settled for a point apiece between the sides.
