The PSL's jewellery king gets his flowers

It seems that there's more to Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove's flamboyant fashion, with flashy jewellery being a prominent feature when it comes to his style. Here's a look!

The story

It looks as though the only time that the Mozambique international isn't rocking shiny accessories is when he is on the field of play. Off the pitch, the defender never misses an opportunity to flaunt his gleaming earrings, bracelets, rings, and even necklaces - bringing an added sparkle to his vibrant drip.

His style has obviously gotten the attention of his teammates, with the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Given Msimanga, Zitha Kwinika, and Edson Castillo dropping compliments on his pictures on Instagram. It is evident flamboyance is appreciated in the dressing room and is mostly likely in the conversation for best-dressed in the squad. The 29-year-old truly embodies the life of a modern-day footballer, as fashion has never been this closely-related to football.

Perhaps it is unfortunate that Chiefs doesn't have a photographer who takes snaps of players as they arrive in training or at matches in their own clothes. Clubs like FC Barcelona and the France national team do this perfectly, as fans get glimpses of the drip on show, with players like Jules Kounde having endeared themselves to some supporters thanks to this.

Unfortunately for the Dove, he is yet to feature for Amakhosi this season, as he remains sidelined through injury. His manager Molefi Ntseki recently confirmed that he could return on the pitch after the international break but has began training with the team again.

His country will take on Benin on 9 September in a crucial 2023 Afcon qualifier at home. A win or a draw will guarantee them a spot at the tournament next year in the Ivory Coast.

Did you know?

Dove made his national team debut at the age of 20 back in 2015 and has made 36 caps since, according to Transfermarkt.
