Oops! Lionel Messi's teammate almost kisses his wife

It got a bit awkward when Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo was almost kissed by one of her husband's teammates. 

The moment that involved Roccuzzo and Inter Miami star Jordi Alba was captured and has since went viral on social media, with users formulating various theories.

The episode occurred during the celebrations that took place after Inter Miami beat Nashville in the League Cup final. The game ended 1-1 after extra time, and Miami were the eventual victors after a penalty shootout that ended 10-9 in Messi's side's favour. 

During the post-match celebrations, Roccuzzo and Alba walked up to hug one another with big smiles, but they got it slightly wrong. They both moved their heads in a way that two people going in for a kiss would. 

This sparked an awkward moment, but the pair just turned their faces away from each other, laughed it off and carried on with their celebrations.

Some commenters speculated that it was a hug gone wrong while others suggested that it was a case of mistaken identity. 

Messi and his wife have been together for what seems like a lifetime. According to the Sun, the pair met each other when they were just five years of age. The relationship blossomed from a childhood friendship to romance, and the couple still seem to be crazy in love.
