Despite being a free agent, Tshabalala is still putting in the hard yards, keeping himself ready for the next opportunity he decides to take up.
Putting in the hard work at the gym has become an integral part of a footballer's life, and the Amakhosi legend has not at all neglected this aspect of his game.
Tshabalala often takes to Instagram to share his fitness progress with his vast following, posting videos and pictures of him in the gym doing his workouts.
Whether he's cycling on a stationary bike, running on the treadmill, lifting weights or doing plyometric workouts, the country's 2010 World Cup hero is putting in the hard yards.
Tshabalala also seems to have taken up cycling as another means of keeping himself fit. He got a bike from Finish Line Cycles and appears to have developed quite an enthusiasm for cycling. The South African international shared that he completed a 30km cycle in just over an hour and 30 minutes.
According to Better Health, The health benefits of regular cycling include increased cardiovascular fitness, increased muscle strength and flexibility, improved joint mobility and strengthened bones.
These benefits are all ideal for a professional footballer.
The 38-year-old has also by no means neglected his football. He regularly shares casual training footage of himself trying different challenges such as kicking the ball into a basketball net, taking volleyed shots from the halfway line and kicking targets with pinpoint accuracy.
Tshabalala also made his Kaizer Chiefs return earlier this year. He and various Amakhosi legends made their comebacks to take part in the legends Soweto Derby, a charity match that was played at the Tonic Chabalala Foundation at Malamulele Stadium in July this year.
