Steve Komphela earned his first win as Moroka Swallows coach after they defeated Sekhukhune United with a controversial winner.
The Birds bagged the opener after 16 minutes curtesy of Lindokuhle Mtshali and Babina Noko responded through a Chibuike Ohizu equaliser assisted by Man of the Match, Jamie Webber.
Drama ensued in stoppage time after goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare was nudged by Gabadinho Mhango, which resulted in the Ivorian carrying the ball into his own net.
The referees ruled it as an own-goal, with tempers flaring on the Sekhukhune bench, with the referees being hounded after the match by the losing side.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Swallows secure first win under Komphela with bizarre goal" story:
"I'm glad that goal stood. These keepers have been over protected for too long now. There was a contact, of course, and it will be seen as an illegitimate goal all day long, but the keeper didn't even try to stand his ground, he wanted to avoid the contact by taking a step back.
"Sangare is too big to be easily pushed over the line by a small dude like Mhango. The keeper allowed the controversy. Had he stood his ground that soft push wouldn't have taken him over the line and if it was a strong push it was gonna be a lot clearer that kiss we call a push," says Minwana Phezulu.
"'Goal of the season'" says Legend CRM083.
"These referees are no longer ashamed. There can never be any second guessing of that illegitimate Swallows goal," says Dr. Mthimkhulu.
"This referee earned himself the title of 'The worst referee ever!'" says INBOX VAT ALLES.
"Swallows a big brand. Hence, it should no fear of whatsoever. They will be in the top 8 and they were supposed to get at least one trophy if it was not because of meeting Sundowns along the way," says winterv.me.
"You said it happens only to Chiefs because they pay referees. What is this that is happening against Sekhukhune? I think everyone can see that it's the PSL's poor standard of refereeing," repliess matemane.
"If Chiefs were the ones who had benefited from such a goal, you wouldn't hear the end of it," says Bamjee.
"Daylight robbery," says sammieqaba.
"Steve mustn't come with his long speech, last season Swallows finished 8th. We expect a better position than last season man," says BrutuswamaJuju.
