Amakhosi are set to host the Zanzibar Premier League side in the preliminary round of the second-tier continental competition on November 28, before going away in the return leg a week later.
The club have since announced that the fixture will be staged at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, with kick-off set for 19h30.
Zimamoto, who are a Tanzanian club that competes in the semi-autonomous region of Zanzibar, would welcome the news given all their domestic fixtures are also played at sea level.
This is not the first time Chiefs have decided on taking a costal team away from altitude, having last earned a walk-over against Comoros outfit Volcan de Moroni – who failed to pitch at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in 2016.
In 2015, Morrocan giants Raja Casablabca – also based at sea level – walked away 1-0 victors from the Moses Mabhida Stadium and eventually eliminated the Soweto side from the CAF Champions League with a 2-0 win at home.
However, with Zimamoto relative minnows – having made their continental debut just last year – Chiefs should have it rather easy in PE before travelling to the island of Zanzibar.
Before then, The Glamour Boys also face a potentially gruelling encounter with arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals in Durban on Saturday.
