Joseph Molangoane targets victorious end to Kaizer Chiefs' disappointing season

Amakhosi are set to run out for the last time in 2017/18 when they visit Ajax Cape Town for their final Absa Premiership clash at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

With the Urban Warriors caught in 15th position, they are expected to come out guns blazing in hopes of a victory to escape the play-off spot.

However, Molangoane, though wary of the Cape side’s intentions, is confident the Soweto giants can see off Muhsin Ertugral's men.

“This is going to be a tough match. Ajax are fighting for dear life and they will throw everything at us in this one,” Molangoane told his club’s website.

“It is normal to face teams that raise their game whenever they play against us. You can imagine this time with so much at stake, sparks are going to fly.

“We have experienced a tough season. Be that as it may, we have a job to do. We want to close this chapter on a high, and a good closure will give the team the much-needed boost going into the new season.”

Chiefs have a two-point lead on fourth-placed Maritzburg United, and ‘Tight’ is adamant on securing their place in the second-tier continental club competition, which is expected to kick off in December.

“We are looking forward to a great event. Cape Town people never disappoint when it comes to match attendance. As for us, we’ve worked hard in the past two weeks to sharpen a number of areas in our play, especially the finishing part of our game,” he added.

“The coach has instilled a few elements already in a short space of time. All that’s needed is to produce the results in the match. We have worked hard to prepare for this match.

“We want to give our supporters something to cheer about and we also want to go back to continental club competition next season.”

Meanwhile, the wingback has expressed his gratitude to the Chiefs supporters for their unwavering support through thick and thin over the course of this campaign.

“I wish to thank the supporters. Though we faced some challenges along the way, the supporters did show up at our matches. We reiterate our gratitude to them for always being there for team,” he concluded.
