Giovanni Solinas demands Kaizer Chiefs response against

Chiefs will host Zanzibar's Zimamoto in the preliminary round of the competition at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, with kick-off set for 19h30 in Port Elizabeth.

Solinas admits he is still pained by Amakhosi's 2-1 loss to Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium, but says they have to move on.

"Football is beautiful, because on Saturday we were disappointed because we lost the Derby. Me, I feel pain," Solinas said.

"But football is like life, we need to move forward. Today we have another game and we need to win this game. We need to respect our club. This is not about our opponent, now it is about us. It's not about our opponent.

"Our opponent, the manner they play is not good, now we need a reaction. Now we need a reaction, we need the character. We have to win this game today. There's not any other option, not any other option, but a win."

Chiefs, who typically entertain teams at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium, are not the first side to take a CAF game to PE.

The Glamour Boys' arch-rivals Bucs did so in 2012 when they lost 3-1 to Angolan outfit Recreativo do Libolo in the preliminary round of the Champions League.
