North Africans Raja Casablanca of Morocco and Egypt’s Al-Masry have booked their places in the last four, while Nigeria’s Enyimba and AS Vita Club from the DRC are also looking to get their hands on the trophy which TP Mazembe won in the previous two editions of the competition.
Enyimba hammered Rayon Sports of Rwanda 5-1 over the weekend in Aba, after the first leg in Kigali ended goalless.
Enyimba, who last won a continental title in 2004, will take on Raja Casablanca, winners of the their quarterfinal clash against CARA-Brazzaville. The first leg will be played on October 3 in Aba, while the second encounter between the two sides will be played on October 24 in Casablanca.
The other semi-final will feature Al-Masry and AS Vita. Both clubs are in the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup for their first time in their history and will be looking to make the most of the opportunity presented to them.
Masry will host the first leg in Port Said and Vita will have their chance to play on home soil in the second leg in Kinshasa.
