Polokwane City midfielder Edgar Manaka gives back to his community

The Lotanang Drop In Centre, which provides shelter and food to orphans in Limpopo, was destroyed by a storm earlier this year.

Manaka's donation to the Drop In Centre is part of prize money won by Phoffu Flying Birds during the Edgar Manaka Foundation Tournament held in Polokwane in December last year.

The champions of Manaka's tournament were required to choose any charity of their choice to donate part of their prize money and Flying Birds have picked Lotanang Drop In Centre in Ga-Matlala as the beneficiary of their prize money.

Manaka has confirmed the trip to Ga-Matlala on Good Friday as part of his foundation's initiative to plough back into the community.

"This is part of my foundation's community responsibility. I am humbled that I am going to a place where I was born in a bid to make a difference in the community," Manaka tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We are trying to give hope and the little we have to bring a smile to someone's face. Despite their disadvantaged background, we are also trying to show that someone is caring about them."
