Bournemouth have enjoyed a good run of form of late, and continued their win-streak with a 2-0 win over 14th-placed Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium.
Johannesburg-born midfielder Andrew Surman opened the scoring for the visitors midway through the second half before Ryan Fraser added a second four minutes later to secure the three points, as Rantie made a late substitute appearance in the 2-0 victory.
The win sees The Cherries maintain their top spot in the Championship standings alongside Middlesbrough, with both teams sitting on 30 points after 16 matches.
The win was Bournemouth’s sixth League victory on the trot, and their seventh in all competitions following their 2-1 victory over Premier League opponents West Brom in the League Cup last week.
Rantie, who was yesterday included in Shakes Mashaba’s Bafana Bafana squad to face Sudan and Nigeria in their upcoming Afcon qualifiers, has scored two goals in the nine appearances he has made so far for Bournemouth this season.
