Alonso's charges have only dropped points on four occasions this campaign and remain the only team yet to tasted defeat.
It's also Alonso first trophy as a manager, having only taken charge of Leverkusen last season.
It could be a memorable campaign for Leverkusen, who are still in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.
