Liverpool remain in third position on the Premier League table after a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp rang the changes after the Reds' loss to Atalanta on Thursday, with goalkeeper Alisson, Andrew Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diazreturning to the side.

Palace got off to the perfect start when Eberechi Eze bagged his seventh league goal of the season with a composed finished from Tyrick Mitchell's cross.

Liverpool went close to conceding a second goal a few minutes later but Robertson showed great speed to get back and clear Jean-Philippe Mateta's effort off the line after he had already got past Alisson.

Klopp's charges threw bodies forward going in search of the equaliser, as Wataru Endo was denied by the woodwork while Diaz was thwarted by a fine save from Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The Reds carried that momentum into the second half but were forced to make a change early on when Connor Bradley was forced off with an injury and replaced by the returning Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool continued to dominate and were presented with a big chance before the hour mark when the ball drop kindly for Darwin Nunez, whose first time volley was brilliantly kept out by Henderson.

Frustration grew in Anfield after Curtis Jones blew a big chance to equalise on 75 minutes when he sent through one on one with Henderson and placed his strike wide of the upright.

That proved to  be the trend for the rest of the encounter as Palace thwarted every Liverpool attack to claim their first away win in the league since November.
