Former Orlando Pirates striker Bruce Ramokgadi has revealed why he believes Spanish-born coach Jose Riveiro could be the weakest link in the team, following the loss to Sekhukhune United.

On Saturday, once again, the Sea Robbers failed to live up to expectations as they lost 2-1 to Babina Noko in their DStv Premiership encounter.

The defeat saw the Soweto giants dropping to position four on the log table.

They next face Moroka Swallows in the original Soweto Derby, scheduled to take place at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Wednesday.

"I think Pirates' biggest problem is consistency, this coach changes the team every weekend," Ramokgadi tells KickOff.

"Every weekend, there's a new player in the team, so there's no consistency. It's even difficult to predict a team that is not consistent. Changing the team every weekend makes him (Riveiro) the weakest link.

"You see even in the game we played against Kaizer Chiefs, we were all shocked to learn that the likes of Thabiso Lebitso were in the team.

"We were even more shocked to see the likes of Monnapule Saleng appearing out of the blue and making the team, even though he had not started a single game this season," he added.

Ramokgadi went on to point out the benefits, from the perspective of a player, to featuring regularly in the starting line-up.

"If you play week in and week out, as a player you gain even more momentum. Match fitness and lack of confidence are never an issue. So, I don’t see Pirates winning the league under such (a coach). It's impossible to achieve with a coach who changes his team too often.

"Changing five players from the team that played in your previous match, that's just too much. I don't think that's something that can help you win the league.

"Unless he is told to make those changes. But if he is not forced, then why fix it if it's not broken?"
