With two games in four days, head coach Cavin Johnson conducted a 02:00 regeneration session on Sunday morning in preparation for Tuesday's DStv Premiership encounter against Stellenbosch FC.

Amakhosi saw their top-four ambitions suffer a dent as they were held to a goalless draw at Athlone Stadium on Saturday. The result was disappointing for a side that needed to get a win after suffering defeat against rivals Orlando Pirates before the international break.

However, with another tough encounter looming on Tuesday against Stellies, Chiefs had very little time to lick their wounds.

The Soweto giants took the extraordinary route of holding a regeneration session in the wee hours of Sunday, just hours after the City clash.

"The dynamics have been different. We haven’t had this many back-to-back games since I have been with the team," Johnson told the club’s official website on Monday.

"We returned from Cape Town on Saturday night and had a regeneration session at 02:00 in the morning, to allow the players to rest all of Sunday, which is the best recovery.

"Today (Monday) we train, and we’ll be ready for tomorrow."

Johnson’s troops take on a Stellies side in impressive form and boasting an 18-match unbeaten run. The former Platinum Stars coach is under no illusions about the task before them.

"We will need to have a better performance than on the weekend," he declared.

"They (Stellenbosch) are near the top of the league, and not for no reason.

"They are a very good side and we’ll have to have all our ducks in a row to compete with them, but they are coming to FNB (Stadium) and if we are not aggressive and arrogant on our own home ground, then we won’t get what we are looking for."

The match will be played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup final venue, with kick-off scheduled for 19:30.
