The PSL has provided the final word on a case that was threatening the finalisation of the season.

The pending boardroom case that was threatening to derail the completion of the Motsepe Foundation Championship this weekend has been thrown out by the PSL.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila – widely known as TTM – filed a complaint following their relegation citing allegations of that Venda Football Club had used an improperly registered player in Athini Jodwana (PSL registration 11130G6).

Jodwana played seven matches for VFA from which the Limpopo club collected 11 points.

However, following a PSL DC hearing, TTM’s claim was dismissed as confirmed on Tuesday evening by Zola Majavu, the PSL prosecutor in a detailed statement.

"Based on the facilitation by myself as the prosecutor having made available to both parties the official records of the league’s registration department it became apparent that the information of which TTM based its complaint was inaccurate.

"They, themselves, conceded that and in the result ad through their legal representatives they voluntarily formally withdrew such complaint before the DC panel.

"The DC confirmed such withdrawal on the record and for avoidance of doubt.

"The clubs which were fixtured against VFA and in which this particular player was fielded were also notified, some of them were in attendance through their legal representative to observe the proceedings to the extent that they might have an interest.

"As a consequence of the formal withdrawal the matter can then be regarded as finalised.

"There are no ancillary cases emanating from this particular complaint to the extent that there were rumours that this case could potentially throw the case into disarray.

"Nothing could be further from the truth, and I specifically and emphatically confirm that there is no case currently on my desk which could have such an effect.

"However, in the event that such cases were to be lodged between now and the final game of the season, I can reassure the public that the league’s judiciary processes are such that we are in a state of readiness to deal with those matters as and when they arise so that the final closure of the league is not thrown into disarray," explains Majavu.

TTM will now join Black Leopards in the ABC Motsepe League next season.
