Former Mamelodi Sundowns forward Nyasha Mushekwi has found himself dealing with a disastrous start to the new Chinese Super League season.
Mushekwi’s club Zhejiang Greentown have lost four and drawn one in their opening five games of the 2023 campaign sinking them to the bottom of the standings with a single point.

The veteran forward has featured in all the five games (four starts and one substitute) scoring once.
That goal by the former Zimbabwe international has been one of only two goals scored by the club in those five games.
Zhejiang Greentown’s struggles have come as a surprise considering that they finished third last season on their way to booking a ticket to the Asian Champions League qualifiers with Mushekwi smashing 18 goals.
Mushekwi turns 36 this year but was a hit last season for Zhejiang in their first season back in topflight football.
Through his time at Zhejiang, Mushekwi has risen to become the all-time top scorer after overtaking fellow former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Dino Ndlovu.
Mushekwi scored 23 goals in the 2021 season as Zhejiang won promotion and since leaving his homeland to play in the PSL (2010/11) at Sundowns, he has been on double figures on nine occasions playing in South Africa, Sweden, and China.
