With former referee Victor Hlungwani claiming that Relebohile Mofokeng should have been sent off during a Nedbank Cup tie, the statement sparked some debate among the KickOff readers.

What's the story

During Orlando Pirates' 4-0 victory over Hungry Lions in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup,  Lions goalkeeper Glen Baadjies fell to the grass after seemingly getting into a brief altercation with Pirates’ Mofokeng.

"Look, he (Mofokeng) is not playing for the ball, he’s playing the person. That’s a red card!" Hlungwani said.

Check out what the KO readers had to say:

"Referee didn't see that nonsense and there were some bad words that said by goalkeeper to Mofokeng that made him angry at him," says Ntokozo Mhlongo.

"I hope his seniors had a chat with him about the danger of that behaviour and he learned from it," says Ndumiso Dlamini-KaMalandela.

"I'm a Buccaneer but my answer is yes," says Rasbuka Norman.

"You'll never see a Snake reaction until you provoke it's peace," says Cry Wa-le Potokisi Motshwane.

"Go to your nearest Police Station and open a case," says Wellinghton Gontse Sekile.

"Hope he learns from that. He is for the future," says Ntambo Ntambo.

"I don't know what he did but the answer is NO," says Soxe Ponny Khoza.

"We all see what Maart did to Saleng and we all kept quiet including referee," argues Jacky Matome Monare.

"I'm a Buccs faithful and I will be honest. Yes, he was supposed to have been shown the red card. Ill discipline is not tolerated in the beautiful game," says Ordnance Jabu.

"Yes the boy crossed the line even though we don't know what that goalkeeper said to him but his behaviour was unacceptable," says Pilate Phakamile Bhehane.

Meanwhile, defender Zitha Kwinika opened up about how he joined the Soweto giants and how he grew into becoming a key player for the side.

Check out the fans' response:

"I don't know who scouted you... You are not comfortable with the ball, you can't make good decisions ai you must join Rugby," says MJ Zim.

"But he was good at Stellenbosch. If you check players in Chiefs' camp, all of them drop their form," said Kenny Orifha Mamushiana in reply to Zim.

"And it will end there... that's where you belong," says Abel Ma.

"If their 'key' player is this guy then they are doomed," says Thabani Singila KaNomndayi Meyiwa.

"As always ,they destroy their players, like Ngezana," says Sylvester Thabo Mphiri Mabusela.

"Key Players FC," says Malome Julian.

"Thomas Sweswe was much better than this guy," says Minterbrown Kevin.

"Playing for Kaizer chiefs nowadays is a curse," says Temo Texaner Mokgothu.

"I can't even believe this boy play for a big team like chiefs! He's Moroka Swallows material," says Patrick Taele.
