With former Orlando Pirates captain Benson Mhlongo backing the side to be part of a title race that will go down to the wire, readers have shared their honest thoughts on the matter. Check it out!

What's the story?

Mhlongo stated that Jose Riveiro's side are capable of pushing leaders Mamelodi Sundowns until the end of the DStv Premiership in a title battle.

Check out what the KickOff readers had to say about it!

"Inconsistency is Pirates biggest problem. They have the potential to challenge Sundowns to the wire only if they can improve on that. Mhlongo's both clubs legend so what he's saying isn't farfetched because the closest team to Sundowns currently but like I said, they should bring home more positive results," says Eric Vuso

"Let's be honest this League campaign is already done and dusted... Coaches need to use this season as a platform to try out new combinations and to scout for possible fresh recruits SUNDOWNS have already bagged this campaign PERIOD... better luck all other 15 teams next season...." says Simphiwe Dlamini.

"Not when they’re playing draws against Cape Town Spurs…These guys are dreaming," says Kele Waha Mokoena.

"For as long as they play seriously against the champs only and go on to loose against the likes of spurs, they must forget about the league and focus on cups. Win 3 games and be in the Final that's it," says Victor Luyanda Hlatshaneni.

"Let's stop dreaming guys. Out team lacks consistency. Come next game it's a lose or draw. They are still celebrating the derby win. They don't learn from past mistake. If they fail to beat Cape Town Spurs...come on," says Wandile Ngema.

"I'm a Pirates fan but no Benny it's not happening anytime soon we are too inconsistent. We should have taken advantage while they were playing AFL but no our inconsistency failed us," says Samuel Mohlala.

"Do you really think Sundowns can lose seven games and pirates win all their remaining games?" asks Itumeleng Isaac.

Meanwhile, Masandawana head coach Rulani Mokwena expressed confidence in midfielder Neo Maema's ability to bounce back and retain his position in the starting line-up at the Brazilians.

Check out what readers thought of his comments:

"Never, those South Americans are ahead of him and Serino is now back. They are just playing him mind games so that he must not think about leaving," says Wilson Morewane.

"Billy is a good player, his time will come and Coach know his potential anytime he given a chance he is giving all," says Noluthando Kaboyellow Sandawana Nqoko.

"Maema always gives top performances. With sundowns your enough is never good enough because season in and out they buy players of top quality; its unfortunate some will remain surplus," says Thapelo Mthimkhulu.

"Just let the boy go to chiefs..He can start every game there instead of giving him false hope," says Moowzee Mzee Muzi Maluka.

"Since that Wydad red card I think Neo and Rhulani do not vibe anymore, with the form he had if he was in the 2nd leg we would have won the second star. Neo is a star. Better than Lorch too. How do we have such a talent on the stands," says MPC Nyathi.

"As if the boy will get himself in the starting line up at Downs. The coach got his favorites and will keep playing them no matter the boy (Maema) fights for his place," says Fabio Nkhosi.

"He must ask for his transfer because even on June Sundowns will sign another players on same position," says Mangaliso Mangi Sinetemba.
