Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune's suspension at the club could have further consequences regarding the prospects of his career.
Khune has been removed from the Amakhosi playing squad after he faced disciplinary processes at the club for his off-the-field issues, where he allegedly broke the club's code of conduct.
One of the sanctions imposed by the Glamour Boys' disciplinary committee was to remove the veteran shot-stopper from being captain at the club.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper's performances were reaching low levels at the club before his suspension but he had a big chance to revive his career after he was one of the players leading the votes in the Carling All Star Team.
In latest Carling Black Label Cup votes released just over a week ago, Khune was second on the players being voted in the All Star Team to face Carling Knockout champions Stellenbosch on 6 January 2024, with over 34000 votes.
However, the Amakhosi fan-favourite shot-stopper's participation in the tournament hangs by a thread, as he still has to "attend and actively participate in certain programmes aimed at helping him address challenges and issues he is facing" as per the club's statement following his suspension.

Ahead of Chiefs' upcoming DStv Premiership game against Richards Bay on Saturday, the club confirmed on their website that Khune is one of the players who will not be available.
The Soweto giants would have only one game remaining for the year after playing against the Natal Rich Boyz and if Khune continues to be out of the team, his suspension could carry on until the club resumes training in preparation for the resumption of the league next year, with Chiefs scheduled to restart in mid February after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
For Khune's suspension to be lifted, he has to complete the required programmes and meet the expectations of the club and the Black Label Cup tournament could come too soon for him to feature.
