WATCH | Sundowns legend issues warning over Chiefs clash

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Lovers Mohlala has warned against underestimating Kaizer Chiefs with the two teams set to lock horns in the semi-final of the MTN8 on Saturday.

Amakhosi will host the Brazilians at FNB Stadium in the first leg of the semi-finals with the 2021/22 cup winners favourites to progress, Mohlala has issued a word of cation against Ntseki's Chiefs.

"I don't see any team stopping Sundowns (For the league title), but I wouldn't count out Chiefs in the MTN8," Mohlala said.

"Chiefs on special occasions, they can come up with something different but because of the losses, the draws that they have had maybe it's because the coach is still new."

"But let's See how Sundowns do, I always say that when it comes to knockouts [they struggle], in the league, the consistency is there and in just wish they continue creating history."

Mohlala went on to highlight what he believes is the major difference between Sundowns and the rest of the teams in the league.

"There is a lot of difference between Sundowns and other teams, at Sundowns there is a lot of investment, for any team to match Mamelodi Sundowns they shouldn't go after profit they should be investors.

This league has changed, it's becoming like the Spanish league – one way traffic, just always Sundowns, Sundowns, Sundowns and for me even when I watch a game I don't watch the game, I always know that Sundowns will be victorious.Lovers Mohlala on Sundowns' dominance

But sometimes I get happy when Sundowns win by 1-0 and not 5-0 and so, I always say we still need a team to challenge Sundowns."

Before their MTN8 tie, Sundowns take on Polokwane City away in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday at 17:00 while Chiefs take on Stellenbosch away on the same day at 19:00.
