Chiefs unveil striker's arrival

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the arrival of Colombian striker and latest signing Efmamjjasond Gonzalez at Kaizer Chiefs Village, the club's training base in Naturena.

The South American attacker was announced by Chiefs last week as part of the club's bid to bolster their attacking options, particularly with the departure of Caleb Bimenyimana.

"The 24-year-old, Colombian striker Efmamjjasond Gonzales Palacios, was presented at the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena, where Executive Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung accepted him warmly into the fold, telling the assembled media, we wish to welcome him to South Africa and also to wish him everything of the best," the club said.

Gonzales becomes on the second Colombian player to don the black and gold after Leonardo Castro who left the club at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Chiefs will be hoping their latest recruit can provide solutions upfront having struggled to find the the back of the net so far, scoring just three times in the first four matches of the season.

Amakhosi are putting in the final preparations for a DStv Premiership encounter against AmaZulu to be played at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Kick off is at 17:30.
