Official: Chiefs charged by PSL

Premier Soccer League prosecutor Zola Majavu has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs have been charged following Sunday's incident at the Mbombela Stadium.

The Soweto giants suffered a 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon, leaving the team winless after three games in the DStv Premiership.

Unhappy supporters at the Mbombela Stadium made their feelings clear and threw objects at the Chiefs head coach, who was escorted into the tunnel by police.

The Amakhosi will now appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee next Tuesday, 29 August.

"I confirm that I preferred charges of misconduct against Kaizer Chiefs Football Club," Majavu said via the PSL media department.

"This is as a result of a 'missile-throwing incident' that transpired in a match between themselves and TS Galaxy this past Sunday.

"They have been scheduled to appear before the PSL DC on Tuesday, 29 August 2023.

"Once the DC has pronounced it's verdict and the matter finalised, I will then give then give a further update, until then there will be no running commentary on the matter as per usual."
