Bartlett provides latest on Radiopane

Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett has provided an update on striker Boitumelo Radiopane after suffering what looked a serious injury.

The Urban Warriors defeated Casric Stars 1-0 to collect a valuable three points in their opening PSL promotion playoffs clash and will be aiming to clinch a crucial home win against Maritzburg United at Athlone Stadium on Saturday.

Spurs though suffered a setback with the loss of star attacker Radiopane, who was stretchered doff against Stars with a suspected fracture that looks likely to sideline the on-loan Pirates player for a lengthy period.

Bartlett has confirmed that Radiopane will take no part against Maritzburg.

"It's unfortunate obviously, we don't have Radiopane available due to the injury he picked up against Casric Stars," Bartlett told KickOff.

The extent of the injury is not known yet, but he'll definitely not be available in the [Maritzburg] game. I think come Monday, we'll probably have a clear picture with regards to the length of his recovery, after seeing a specialist.

"But as a club, we will use it also as motivation to go and compete in the playoffs and win because he's been an integral part for us this whole season.

"He's contributed in every way possible as far as goals and even assists. I think the least we can do is to try and win it so he's got an opportunity should he come back to us next season, to play in the DStv Premiership."

Kick-off is at 15:00
