No fans for Napoli vs Arsenal possible as Uefa crowd fan looms

After crowd trouble at Stadio San Paolo during their last Champions League tie against Marseille, there is a fear Uefa may make an example of Napoli and impose a crowd ban.

Napoli’s 3-2 win over Marseille put them joint top of the group with Arsenal, but after the match fights broke out between rival fans outside the stadium, with 10 people injured and riot police having to intervene.

Flares were also set off inside the venue, leading to complaints about Napoli’s organisation.

Uefa are investigating the matter, and could ban on all supporters for the final Group F fixture against Arsenal on December 11.

A decision is expected today from the game’s authorities, although The Guardian suggest that Arsenal are not expecting a ban.
