Ansu Fati linked with shock last-minute EPL move

FC Barcelona star Ansu Fati could reportedly be set for a shock last-minute move to a top Premier League side, with negotiations having already begun.

Tottenham Hotspur have registered their interest in the 20-year-old, and are in contact with Barca to negotiate a loan deal, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano further reports that Barca want Spurs to cover 100% of the player's salary for the season he would spend in London.

The Spaniard is reportedly open to a move away from the Camp Nou too, after not starting any of Barca's three opening league matches of the campaign.

It is claimed Fati has also been offered to Chelsea, but the Blues have not made an official approach for him as yet.

According to Mundo Deportivo, it is his lack of minutes that sparked his desire to leave the reigning LALIGA champions. Last season, he made just 12 starts for the Catalan side.

The winger first joined Barcelona's youth set-up in 2012, and made his first-team debut in 2019 at just 16 years of age. He has since amassed more than 100 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring 29 goals and racking up 10 assists.

Six days after making his debut, Fati scored his first professional career goal in a game against Osasuna, making him Barca's youngest-ever LALIGA goal scorer. That same season, he became the youngest player to ever play in the Champions League for Blaugrana, and was so highly regarded by the club that he was given Lionel Messi's No. 10 shirt when the Argentine left as a free agent.
