Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood has overtaken Wayne Rooney to become the club's highest-scoring teenager in the Premier League.
Greenwood, 19, netted his 16th Premier League goal for United with a powerfully struck effort against Aston Villa on Sunday to help the Red Devils record a comprehensive 3-1 win over the hosts at Villa Park.

In doing so, the 2001-born striker overtook Rooney, who remains the club's all-time record goalscorer, to become the highest-scoring teenager in the Red Devils' history books in the English top flight, per ESPN.
Greenwood made his league debut for United as a 17-year-old in March 2019, when he became the second-youngest player to feature for the club in the Premier League, second only to fellow academy graduate Angel Gomes.
He scored his first EPL goal against Sheffield United later that year and has since gone on to find the net 16 times in 62 league appearances, a tally no other player achieved while still in their teenage years at Old Trafford.
"... Hopefully there's many more to come," Greenwood said on his achievement, per Manchester Evening News. "I want to try and keep scoring goals so nobody else comes and breaks the record in the future."
