Liverpool's first departure ahead of the 2020/21 campaign has been confirmed, with midfielder Pedro Chirivella leaving the reigning European champions to join FC Nantes in France.
On Friday afternoon, Ligue 1 side Nantes confirmed that 23-year-old Spanish midfielder Chirivella would be joining the club on a three-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool.

"FC Nantes is very happy to announce the signing of Pedro Chirivella (23), at the end of his contract with the Liverpool Football Club. The new yellow and green midfielder signed up with the Club until 2023," an official Nantes statement read.
The former Spain youth international joined the Reds' youth ranks from Valencia in 2013, and went on to make just 11 senior appearances in his time with the Merseyside club, including a run-out with the captain's armband in Liverpool's League Cup defeat to Aston Villa earlier this season.

Chirivella, who had previously enjoyed loan spells with Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II in the Netherlands, reportedly turned down a five-year contract extension at Anfield in order to secure more game time with Nantes.
