Bundesliga: Erling Haaland inspires Borussia Dortmund to Revierderby win

Schalke 0-4 Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund claimed the bragging rights in the Revierderby with a 4-0 thrashing of Schalke on Saturday evening.

Jadon Sancho got the scoring underway for the visitors in the 43rd minute with a neat finish from the edge of the box.

After starring against Sevilla earlier this week, Erling Haaland got his name on the scoresheet with an impressive acrobatic effort from Sancho's cross.

The dominance continued in the second half, with Raphael Guerreiro being set up by Marco Reus for Dortmund's third goal on the hour mark.

Haaland would have the final say after turning home a cross from Jude Bellingham to complete the rout for Dortmund, who climb to sixth position.

Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich dropped points for a second successive Bundesliga clash after losing 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon.

The home side were without the services of star forward Andre Silva, who had registered 18 goals 20 matches this season.

Even with Silva out, Frankfurt took the lead on 12 minutes when Daichi Kamada got his third goal for the season after being set up by Filip Kostic.

It got better for the home side in the 31st minute when Silva's replacement, Amin Younes doubled the lead with his third league of the campaign as well.

After a scoreless first half, Lewandowski pulled a goal back for the league leaders eight minutes after the restart with a simple finish after some great individual play by Leroy Sane.

Borussia Monchengladbach 1-2 Mainz

Borussia Monchengladbachs' top-four hopes took a knock after a 2-1 defeat to Mainz at Borussia-Park on Saturday evening.

Karim Onisiwo opened the scoring for the visitors in the 10th minute before Lars Stindl levelled matters on 26 minutes.

However, Mainz had to wait until the 86th minute for Kevin Stoger to bag the winning goal.

Frieburg 0-1 Union Berlin

Union Berlin snapped a five-game winless run with a 1-0 victory over Freiburg on Saturday afternoon.

Grischa Promel netted the all important goal in the 69th minute, taking his tally to two league goals.

Koln 0-1 Stuttgart

Stuttgart returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga with a 1-0 triumph away to Koln.

Sasa Kalajdzic scored the game's only goal four minutes after the break to send Stuttgart up to 10th spot.
