One of the more remarkable stories about Kante that reflects his character is when Jamie Vardy revealed that the Frenchman wanted to run to training instead of buying a car.
According to The Sun, Vardy once said, "One day he said to us that he was seriously considering running to the training centre each day, which came from the fact that he would always add a little running session for himself. In the moment, we were all a bit taken aback and convinced him not to."

His Leicester City teammates eventually convinced him to get a car and the 30-year-old decided to purchase a second-hand MINI Cooper in 2015 which he still drives today, according to the British outlet.
In 2018, Kante was rewarded with a new five-year contract at Chelsea worth £290 000 (R5.8 million) a week and when the club reportedly gave him financial advice to set up an offshore tax company, he proceeded to reject it and pay his tax in full unlike Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who have both received fines for tax evasion.
Despite making a lot of money, the 2018 World Cup winner tries to eat at Willian and David Luiz's restaurant for free. The former Arsenal winger once revealed how cheap Kante is, he said in an interview with Chelsea core, "If you ask N'Golo to 'pay' he does like that... Do I have to pay? Oh no, you and David are good, you have a good heart."
