Nengomasha, who is now retired, played with Lorch at National First Division side Cape Town All Stars, before it was sold and renamed to TS Galaxy.
Lorch was on loan to All Stars from Pirates at the time and was making an impression.
Since returning to Pirates, Lorch has been growing as a player and is now considered one of the best players in the league. With nine goals and four assists in domestic competitions, the player from Bloemfontein is being tipped to win the PSL Footballer of the Season award.
He could be part of Stuart Baxter’s Bafana Bafana side for the final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya next month.
“I was with Thembinkosi Lorch. I was with him at Cape Town All Stars. I called Lovemore Moyo. He is a friend of mine who works for KickOff and said ‘I don’t know why [Eric] Tinkler is loaning this boy out, he can be better than Khama’,” Nengomasha said.
He added: “But look at him now. He is back at Pirates and he is doing well for himself.”
Lorch has also been doing well for the Buccaneers in the CAF Champions League.
