Chippa United climbed up to third in the Betway Premiership after beating Golden Arrows 2-0 on Saturday evening.
Chippa made six changes following defeat against Stellenbosch, as Justice Chabalala, Aphelele Teto, Orlando Pirates loanee Siphelo Baloni, Malebogo Modise, Thabo Makhele and Elmo Kambindu were recalled.
Arrows, on the other hand, made five alterations following their heavy defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns, as Knox Mutizwa, Lungelo Nguse, Velemseni Ndwandwe, Nqobeko Dlamini and Blessing Mchunu was handed his first start.
The Chilli Boys were quick off the blocks as within the first six minutes Bienvenu Eva Nga drew a save out of goalkeeper Edward Maova with a close-range header.
Kwanele Kopo's charges continued to create chances and just before the half-hour mark, Baloni eventually broke the deadlock with a low strike after a cut-back by Ayabulela Kanqobe.
Abafana Bes'thende were spirited to make a comeback and ten minutes before the break Mutizwa had a good strike from the edge of the box but shot-stopper Stanley Nwabali made an equally good block.
Chippa continued where they left off, creating chances from the interval and around the hour-mark, they were eventually awarded a penalty for a foul in the box after Sirgio Kammies went down under a challenge from Thabani Zuke.
Andile Jali stepped up and made it 2-0 for Chippa with a confident spot-kick that sent Maova the wrong way.
The hosts were looking to kill off the game on counter-attacks in the closing stages as Baraka Majogoro replaced Elmo Kambindu for fresh legs upfront.
Arrows pressurized United in the dying and were denied by the crossbar towards the end, although the Chilli Boys had already done enough and went up to third on the table.
