Riveiro reveals 'main difference' in Pirates side

Head coach Jose Riveiro has revealed what he believes was the main difference in Orlando Pirates' 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United.

The Buccaneers returned to winning form with a 1-0 win over Babina Noko at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night, thanks to a Thabiso Monyane goal.

The victory ends a run of four league matches without a win for the Sea Robbers and eases pressure ahead of the Soweto derby.

Speaking to media after the match, Riveiro highlighted at at least one area where Pirates improved.

"I need to analyse the match to know if we have improved," Riveiro said.

"We improved in goal scoring, in recent games we have had a problem in finding the back of the net and probably that's the main difference tonight.

"I think the first half was at the level that of the previous matches, I think we played good football.

"You probably don't check the statistics, the conditional ones [but] the amount of running these guys (Pirates players) are doing in each and every game is something out of the normal dimension of this league.

"So they are trying, they are doing everything. That's why I'm proud of them. It's amazing that they are still insisting on the things that we want to do after three or four results that were not easy for us to accept.

"But they tried again tonight and that's the symptom of a healthy team. I think we've played at the level of recent games, the main difference is that we managed to score a goal."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
