Maritzburg reached their first ever final by seeing off Tshwane giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the last-four last month.
Kadodia was coy when asked if his players have been offered bonuses to deny Stars their first trophy since their Coca-Cola Cup triumph in 1994.
“I think that [player bonuses] is an internal matter, players know exactly what we’re talking about,” Kadodia tells snl24.com/kickoff.
“As a small club, you always want to keep the players happy and we always do it. What we need from you guys [the media] is to make sure that we get [support from] the provincial government, who we have made proud that the team has gone to the final.
“We need support by getting fans in buses to go to Cape Town. So we need the government to support us in this final. We need corporate South Africa to see us. It is about time that we get a sponsor ... it has been very hard long road for us.
“I said to you before, we can’t buy technical apparel. It’s time now that brands like Nike and Umbro and whoever else come to the party here and invest behind the team.”
The Team of Choice have also impressed in the Premiership under young coach Fadlu Davids, as they are fourth on the table heading into their last league game of the season against neighbouring Golden Arrows at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday. Maritzburg's best-placed finish was seventh in the topflight last term.
However, United have had their dark moments, as three of their players have passed away in the last three years.
Kadodia gave credit to the players for having to labour under tragic circumstances.
“I think also there has been the fightbacks that we made, players knew that, ‘listen, we got to do certain things in memory of certain players that we lost’.
“Those are tests of God and the reality is that we took it strong and we fought hard.”
