Gavin Hunt bemoans Kaizer Chiefs FIFA transfer ban after first Soweto Derby defeat

Chiefs were on the losing end of a 3-0 scoreline for the second successive weekend, after going down to Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening DStv Premiership fixture.

This time they have all but lost the tie before the MTN8 semi-final second leg, where they will need to beat Pirates with at least three unanswered goals to overturn the aggregate score.

While the Buccaneers looked a different outfit with six new signings making their Soweto Derby bows, Amakhosi were left with only the tried and tested from last season due to their FIFA-issued transfer ban, which is beginning to frustrate the four-time league winner.

"Ja, not good enough obviously. We had two chances before they scored, we could have made it 2-0 and then it would have been a different game," Hunt told the media.

"But we were physically outfought, because of our situation, I think. But it is what it is, we'll dust ourselves off and go again.

"We'll obviously play and try to win the game. The most important thing is trying to win the game."

Asked whether there are any changes needed to come back into the tie in the second leg, Hunt responded: "There's nothing much we can change. I know what I want to do but I can't change, there's nothing we can change. We've got to keep working on it and just try to make it better."
