Let's take a closer look at what they had to say...

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has staunchly defended his goalkeeper Brandon Petersen after his goalkeeping error that gifted Sundowns a 2-1 win curtesy of Neo Maema.

Chiefs had equalised just moments before through a Ashley Du Preez tap-in, with Lucas Ribeiro Costa grabbing Sundowns' opener.

Ntseki came to the defence of Petersen by pointing out the amount of times he's saved the side nullifies the mistakes he's made that have led to a goal.

The Chiefs boss also felt that Maema's winner wasn't solely down to Petersen's blunder, saying the whole team is at fault. He also bemoaned the soft first goal by Downs, saying they got it wrong tactically.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Ntseki defends Petersen - 'Things like this happen in football'" story:

"Downs are already six points with goals on top of the table. They worked hard for both those wins. Should be happy with their lot so far and keep going. I liked the good crosses that Chiefs made in that game and should continue like that.

"Our strikers have been judged inappropriately in the past as not good while they lacked good service. So, now with Modi, Potsane and Du Preez, we can improve our wing play and have many crosses coming into the 18 yard area.

"The team can build from that game and eliminate mistakes. Salute to the coach for resting the youngsters in that game! All the best..." says khothakhosi.

"As long as that back st3bber Zwa3ne is there, I am happy cos more pains still to come...KBY FC all the way," says truthngezana1.

"Unfortunately coach, I could foresee Petersen making a costly error. Thought the coach did well. After seeing that his team was on the back foot, he made timely subs which to his credit changed the game and they got the equalizer," says Lesoganatsoko.

"Sign Mthethwa, Cele and Rayners, play Dove at LB when he is not injured. Recall Elsa Storm to the village for conditioning players, our players are forever injured. Sithebe, Hlanti, Saile and Peterson are weak links, a keeper that has been committing school boy errors from the first time he arrives at Chiefs.

"It's unacceptable, I'm tired of defending what's not defendable, all the players must be told to shape up or ship out of our team including some in the management!!" says user827808.

"I fancy Veli Mothwa from Amazulu for our keeper. But, we know how attention-seeking the boss of Amazulu is," says Danito 4 Life.

"Kaizer Chiefs coaches are weak. If you are wrong, you are wrong. No reputation, mystique is wrong coach show people that you're doing your job not to get pay only," says mabasa0505.

"You can't build from the back with cows," says Saavedra.

"He is in the posts to save the team, not to make silly mistakes that costs the team. He let us down and it's not the first time," says Zohlah.

"I'm afraid I have to agree with you Zohlah, the guy was just not up to scratch yesterday, as much as this is team sport, but I also put 90% of the loss on him," replies Danito 4 Life.

"Ntseki, you did a good job. First half, we weren't playing at all. Your subs changed the game that's what a coach is for.

"Unfortunately, our goalkeeper let us down. Those mistakes are unacceptable especially at Chiefs or any professional football club. I think going forward for big games, we need big players like Khune.

"Peterson you can do better, you have just embarrassed the biggest football team in SA," says lwazihnzimande.

Read: Tinkler: Chiefs game is not really my concern

Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler stated that their MTN8 quarter-final clash against Kaizer Chiefs is not what concerns him.

Tinkler says that he's "150% sure" his players are up for the match and mentioned that sometimes cup games see more passion and desire than a league game.

The Ex-Pirates coach is more worried about his side's next league match against SuperSport United, because a league game is seen as just as important, if not more.

He also questions if his players can follow-up a good performance against Chiefs to their match against Matsatsantsa, as they look to add to their six points in two games.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Tinkler: Chiefs game is not really my concern" story:

"Ha ha ha, Tinkler is underestimating Chiefs, to him Sunday's game is just ball work," says Eduardo Dos Santos.

"I think Banyana are playing better football than Chiefs," says morewasn who added:

"Tinkler is rude, Chiefs are no longer a concern to him, but I don't blame him. That team is weak."

"Tinkler is giving the league/cups argument a good perspective," says Saavedra.

"Yoh, he doesn't take Kaizer Springboks seriously," says Dominate-downs.

"CTC will beat us," says Legend CRM083.

"Anyone can beat Chiefs," says Ntakunyisa Zebra Slayer.

"No game against Chiefs should be a priority for any PSL coach anyway. Chiefs is equivalent of what Burnley is in the EPL," says StheLucipher.
