PSL legends link up at new club

Nengomasha – who spent a decade at Chiefs – has been lined up for a job as team manager while Mwaruwari will be the head coach at ambitious Zimbabwe PSL club Ngezi Platinum.

The two are reuniting have played together at Bidvest Wits during the 2013/14 season.

They were also teammates for a decade in the Zimbabwe national team and in joining Ngezi will both be in their first club jobs post-retirement. 

Ngezi Platinum currently have a caretaker coach in charge and Mwaruwari is expected to take over in the next couple of days when he returns from France where he has been on attachment.

Mwaruwari holds a UEFA A coaching licence attained last year in Ireland in a class that had Mark Hughes and Chris Samba.

Meanwhile, ex-Chiefs forward Luke Julukile Petros is having it tough at Whawha FC who are struggling in the Zim PSL with a single win in nine games. 

Another former PSL player Joel Luphahla also trekked back home to join boyhood club Highlanders last week to be a joint-assistant coach with former Moroka Swallows and Platinum Stars defender Bhekithemba Ndlovu.

Luphahla played for SuperSport United, and Silver Stars before an ugly injury in 2007 marked the beginning of the end of his playing career.

In joining Highlanders, Luphahla left ZIFA Northern Region Division One club Golden Eagles where he has now been replaced by Gilbert Mushangazhike.

Mushangazhike played for Manning Rangers, Orlando Pirates, and Mpumalanga Black Aces in his time in the PSL.
