Nazeer Allie to start training with PSL outfit Maritzburg United

Allie, who was released by Bidvest Wits after three seasons at the club, arrived in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday and will start training with the Team of Choice before they head off to the second phase of their pre-season camp in Potchefstroom on Thursday.

At Wits, the option that came when the 33-year-old signed his original contract, was not exercised and that is why he's now a free agent.

"Allie will start training with the club [Maritzburg United] tomorrow and he arrived today," a source tells snl24.com/kickoff.

Meanwhile, this website has been informed that Swazi international winger Justin Figuareido will return from his homeland this week after impressing United's technical staff during his 10-day assessment with the Team of Choice.

Another player who has also been assessed by the PSL club is former Ajax Cape Town winger Justice Jacobus.

"He [Figuareido] is coming back from Swaziland and will arrive at the club this week," the source adds.

"I can tell you he'll be signed and the club cannot just call him once more. They were very impressed with him. He's also a very good player."

Fadlu Davids' men, who had a record-breaking season last term, recently revealed their new signings ahead of the coming campaign, including Keagan Buchanan, Denwin Farmer, Sizwe Muthwa and Tholang Masegela.
