England and Germany shared the spoils after a thrilling 3-3 draw in the UEFA Nations League on Monday evening.

Luke Shaw and Eric Dier were recalled to the Three Lions, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fikayo Tomori were left out the squad despite not playing against Italy.

Ilkay Gundogan had the chance to give Germany the lead after 11 minutes when a poor clearance from Nick Pope landed in his path, but he was unable to hit the target.

The hosts should have went ahead with the first chance on 25 minutes when Raheem Sterling was slipped through on goal by Shaw's pass, but the England forward was denied by a fine save by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Harry Kane had been quiet for most of the first half but went close a few minutes after Sterling's chance with a powerful volley that sailed just wide of the mark.

Sterling had another chance to put England ahead before the break after getting on the end of Kane's through ball, but he was once again thwarted by Ter Stegen.

The Germans got the advantage five minutes in when Gundogan converted a penalty after Jamal Musiala was brought down by Harry Maguire following a review by the referee.

Kai Havertz extended the German's advantage in the 67th minute with a lovely strike from the edge of the box after being picked out by Timo Werner.

The Three Lions sprung to life after that as Shaw pulled one back four minutes later before second-half substitute Mason Mount restored parity in the 75th minute.

The turnaround was completed with seven minutes to go after England were awarded a penalty of their own after a VAR review, giving Kane the chance to expertly fire past Ter Stegen to put his side in front.

However, Germany were back on level terms in the 87th minute when goalkeeper Pope spilled the ball into the path of Havertz, who made no mistake from close range to seal a point for the four-time world champions.
