Manchester United are reportedly prepared to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes for a club-record fee.

Manchester United are now reportedly ready to make a massive bid of up to R3 billion to sign a certain Real Madrid star.

The Red Devils are expected to have a busy transfer window ahead of the 2024/25 campaign following what has been a largely underwhelming second campaign under manager Erik ten Hag.

It is no secret that many of the club's signings in recent seasons have not exactly worked out, with the likes of Antony, Mason Mount, and even Andre Onana falling short of expectations for the most part.

With all three of those stars arriving at Old Trafford on big fees, it is now being reported that United are yet again willing to spend big, this time on a Los Blancos player.

According to Defensa Central, the Manchester giants want to sign Real star Rodrygo Goes, and are prepared to offer a club-record fee of €120 million (R2.4 billion) to bring the Brazilian to the Theatre of Dreams.

The report further claims that United could even pay as much as €150 million (R3 billion) for the 23-year-old, who has also been linked with fellow English giants Liverpool.

The Brazilian attacker remains the subject of much speculation, with some reports suggesting that he could be inclined to leave the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners following the expected arrival of Kylian Mbappe and with Endrick officially joining in the off-season too.

New United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to be determined to take the club back to its glory days, and it is widely speculated that making a marquee signing would be one way the British billionaire would like to start his tenure.

Rodrygo, meanwhile, insisted his focus remains on Real currently when he was asked last weekend about the seemingly imminent arrival of Mbappe.

The tricky forward has featured prominently under Carlo Ancelotti this term, making 42 appearances in all competitions and contributing with 15 goals and eight assists.

Los Blancos are still vying for two titles this season, with the LALIGA crown increasingly in sight, while they are set for a tough UCL quarter-final tie against current holders Manchester City.
