Following the latest international break, Africa's 10 highest-ranked nations have been confirmed by FIFA.

North African giants Morocco remain the top-ranked CAF side after the recent break, with the hosts of the next Africa Cup of Nations, which will be take place in 2025, having played two fixtures last month, beating Angola 1-0 and claiming a 0-0 draw against Mauritania.

While a number of the continent's nations have climbed up and fallen down in the latest overall world rankings, their positions in Africa are unchanged, with Senegal and Nigeria still the second- and third-best-placed countries, respectively.

The Lions of Teranga beat Gabon and Benin in the past month, while the 2023 AFCON runners-up beat Ghana and then lost to Mali, amid constant speculation over who their next permanent head coach will be following Jose Peseiro's exit from the world.

Egypt and Ivory Coast complete the top five, with the fourth-ranked Pharaohs having beaten New Zealand and lost to Croatia, while reigning African champions Ivory Coast were unbeaten during the recent phase of international games, having been held by Benin in a surprise 2-2 draw and winning 2-1 win against Uruguay.

Ahead of Bafana Bafana in 10th place, meanwhile, is Cameroon in ninth, with Mali in eighth spot, Algeria in seventh, and Tunisia in sixth.

Hugo Broos' side disappointingly drew 1-1 with European minnows Andorra, before drawing 3-3 with Algeria in the newly formulated FIFA World Series.

5. Ivory Coast (38th overall)

6. Tunisia (41st overall)

7. Algeria (43rd overall)

8. Mali (44th overall)

9. Cameroon (51st overall)

10. South Africa (59th overall)
