Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is now said to be the target of a top Spanish club.
The shot-stopper ended his 12-year-old association with United in June 2023 on the back of a campaign where he won the Premier League Golden Glove after keeping the most cleansheets.
United decided to not extend his contract after it had expired, with the player also said to have refused an offer with a reduced salary in the months leading up to his departure.

Saudi Arabian clubs reportedly made several attempts to sign him before the start of this season and during the 2024 January transfer window, but nothing materialised.
Premier League side Nottingham Forest were also linked with the Spaniard's signature in January but, again, nothing concrete was finalised.
With the 33-year-old now set to complete a full season without a club, a new opportunity could be on the cards.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis are interested in signing De Gea as their goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is set to leave the club in June.
The report claims that the Spanish outfit have also not ruled out the possibility of releasing another one of their goalkeepers, Rui Silva, and they have shortlisted several new candidates, with De Gea among them.
FC Barcelona's back-up keeper Inaki Pena is also said to be on the radar of the club.
Although he has only 84 matches in LALIGA under his belt, De Gea has a wealth of experience between the sticks, as he made a massive 545 appearances for United in England.
