Liverpool have reportedly identified another coach who could replace Jurgen Klopp after a new twist in Xabi Alonso's future.

Alonso has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid has also reportedly been an option in the future.

The Athletic have reported that both Liverpool and Bayern believe Alonso will stay another year at Leverkusen.

The Reds are now expected to focus on other candidates, including Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim.

Fabrizio Romano claims Amorim has already been discussed within the club, but he is not the only candidate.

"Liverpool won’t wait anymore for Xabi Alonso — as Ruben Amorim will be an option already discussed internally, not the only one,"

"Bayern are prepared to wait until Xabi make official decision, but he’s expected to stay at Leverkusen until June 2025… with release clause.
