Another Premier League manager is reportedly set to be sacked, with his club said to have already found a replacement for him.

Only two managers have been fired from their roles in England's top flight so far this season, namely Paul Heckingbottom from Sheffield United and Steve Cooper from Nottingham Forest, with both coaches being dismissed in December.

Spanish tactician Julen Lopetegui was the first to vacate a Premier League hot seat in 2023/24, but it is understood that it was he who tendered his resignation back in August.

By the usual standards of late, there has not been much chopping and changing of managers in the EPL, although some have come under serious pressure during the course of the season so far, including Manchester United's Erik ten Hag and Chelsea's Mauricio Pochettino.

However, reports now suggest that another managerial change is on the cards, with just over three months to go before the campaign ends.

According to The Guardian, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has acknowledged the need to relieve the team's veteran coach Roy Hodgson of his duties following their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday.

Having replaced Patrick Vieira at the helm in March 2023, the 76-year-old mentor has floundered this term, managing just six wins, six draws, and 12 losses in the league this term.

Palace are also said to have identified Austrian coach Oliver Glasner as his replacement.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach has been without a job since leaving the German club in June 2023.

A few other managers were reportedly considered by the London team, but Glasner is understood to have emerged as the top candidate ahead of the aforementioned Lopetegui and Cooper.

Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna was another name thrown into the hat, but it is believed he is reluctant to leave his current side as they are in the race for Premier League promotion from the Championship.

Glasner, meanwhile, has previously had various roles at Wolfsburg, Red Bull Salzburg, and LASK, with his biggest accolade so far being the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League triumph with Frankfurt.
