Bayern Munich are reportedly confident of landing Xabi Alonso ahead of Liverpool if he does decide to leave Bayer Leverkusen next season.
Alonso has became a highly sought-after coach as his Leverkusen side currently sit op of the Bundesliga, ten points ahead of defending champions Bayern Munich.
The Leverkusen coach is reportedly wanted by Liverpool as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, while Bayern are looking to replace out-going coach Thomas Tuchel.

According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga champions are optimistic about luring the Spanish tactician to Munich although there has been no negotiations.
The report also adds that Alonso, who still has two years left on his contract, would likely move to the Bavarians instead of the Reds if he decides to leave.
Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness says pursuing Alonso will be tough due to the other teams also keen.
"He [Alonso] has proved that he can be a coach for the big time," Hoeness said, as per Mirror.
"There are hardly any suitable coaches who are currently free. Rather they are coaches who are under contract somewhere and possibly have great success.
"And that makes it much more difficult because clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Leverkusen and FC Bayern are working on it [securing Alonso]. It’s not so easy to tell them that Bayern is the measure of all things."
