Mbappe confirms stance on playing at Olympics

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has made a decision participating in the upcoming Olympics. 

The World Cup winner is eligible to compete for the French at the Olympic Games later this year, but the final decision does not lie with him.

The 2024 Olympic games is a big deal for the player considering it will be hosted in Paris, but the French Football Federation will decided on the player's participation.

Mbappe, however, says it will be a dream to represent his home nation at the Olympics.

"I always wanted to play at the Olympics and my desire has not changed," Mbappe said at a press conference, as per Goal.

" If I play the Olympics then it will be a dream, but if I'm not allowed to, then I will do as I'm told. 

"The decision is still up to one person and they haven't told me yes or no."

France legend Thierry coach the U-21 side that will compete at the Olympics but he his not to hopeful that Mbappe will be available.

"Whatever Mbappe’s desire for the Olympic experience, the possibility of seeing him compete in the Olympics with France is diminishing day by day. Hopes would be quite slim," Henry said.

With Mbappe seemingly set to join Real Madrid next season, reports in Spain claim that the club will not allow their French players, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy to compete at the Olympics.
