Siyabonga Ngezana has moved on to another achievement in his first season playing in Europe.

Siyabonga Ngezana had another weekend of celebrations at Romanian club FCSB as the Championship Play-Offs got underway.

Ngezana finished the regular season in the Romanian Supa Liga top of the standings with FCSB, which meant starting the six-team play-offs log at the summit again.

The championship play-offs – which involves the top six teams from the regular season – started with all points gained from the regular season halved, rounded upwards, and no other records carried over.

FCSB were fixtured against Sepsi OSK for their first match in the play-offs and immediately got going with a 2-1 victory.

With the latest set of points, they are now on 35 points – seven points ahead of their closest rivals, with another nine games to play before the title is decided.

Ngezana played 90 minutes on Sunday for his 25th appearance of the season.

It was a polished display from the ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender, who took care of former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Pavol Safranko after he came on for Sepsi with 20 minutes remaining.

The 26-year-old has put in full shifts in all the nine games that he has made this season for the 1986 European champions.

With a league title triumph, FCSB will progress to the UEFA Champions League, starting their campaign in that continental competition in the qualifying rounds.

Second and third place finishes also carry tickets to UEFA club competitions.

Ngezana never won silverware through the seven years that he spent in the first team at Amakhosi.

FCSB travel to FCV Farul Constanta for the next match on March 31.
