Mamelodi Sundowns 4-0 Cape Town Spurs

Mamelodi Sundowns strengthened their grip at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge table following a resounding 4-0 victory over Cape Town Spurs on Saturday.

Keabetswe Ramotsei got the ball rolling over 15 minutes from the start before the exciting Siyabonga Mabena added another just after halftime.

The Brazilians completed the riot in the final exchanges with efforts from Onele Rulwana and Oratile Mokoena finding the net minutes apart from each other.

Orlando Pirates 0-0 TS Galaxy

Orlando Pirates continued to lose ground with Mamelodi Sundowns as a goalless draw with TS Galaxy at the Rand Stadium put them five points from top spot.

It’s a second straight clash for the Buccaneers without a win following last weekend’s shock defeat to Cape Town City and remain third on the table.

The Rockets, though, continue to hover down the bottom-half standing and are on a five-match winless run too.

Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 Golden Arrows

Kaizer Chiefs failed to keep the pressure on the pace-setters and were held to a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows at the Dobsonville Stadium.

After no goals showed in the first half, the Amakhosi bagged the front-foot courtesy of Njabulo Hlongwane but Abafana Besthende rescued a point through Samukele Mlaba.

The defeat ends the Amakhosi’s three-match winning run of form at the same time though, they maintain fourth-place on the back of this stalemate.

Moroka Swallows 1-4 Richards Bay FC

Richards Bay halted a five-match winless and trounced Moroka Swallows 4-1 to move a few spots from the bottom-half bracket.

The Natal Rich Boys were ahead on just two minutes through Thandoluhle Gazu before Wandile Ngema and Ntonelo Bomelo added to the equation and ensured a solid cushion at halftime.

As the Dube Birds aimed a response, the Natal Rich Boys weren’t having any of it but took full control as Thabisa Ndelu bagged their fourth to see out the clash.

Chippa United 1-1 Sekhukhune United

Sekhukhune United saw their winless streak extend to six matches after battling out a 1-1 draw against Chippa United in Gqeberha.

Both teams came off horror defeats last weekend, with Sekhukhune hammered 4-1 by Stellenbosch FC before Chippa suffered a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Royal AM.

However, neither side were able to turn from that aspect but settled for a point with Jordan Marks on target for Babina Noko.

Polokwane City 1-2 SuperSport United

SuperSport United continued their steady surge up the table in the DStv Diski Challenge after coming from behind to see off bottom-place Polokwane City 2-1 on Sunday.

Following an even first half, with Oratilwe Moloisane on target after the Rise and Shine had made the deadlock – a tense contest showed right throughout.

Matsatsantsa, though, took the bull by the horns despite the bit of resistance from Rise and Shine and secured all the points through Thabang Makhubo.

Stellenbosch FC 4-0 Royal AM

Stellenbosch FC retained second spot ahead of Orlando Pirates after hammering Royal AM 4-0 in a dominant display right from the onset.

Mervin Boij, who was on target for the first team on Friday, continued where he left off when he made the breakthrough and soon thereafter grabbed a brace.

The Maroons maintained the dominance throughout and added two more through Tyler Cicero and Quwan Plaatjies.

AmaZulu 3-2 Cape Town City

AmaZulu continued to move further away from the bottom-two on the table following an entertaining 3-2 victory over Cape Town City.

There were no shortage of early drama, with goals aplenty from either side in the course of the half and seeing the spoils shared at the interval.

However, Usuthu showed a nerve of steel inside full-time and grabbed all the points – leaving City empty handed.
