Kwame Peprah is back dealing with another setback just months after the end of his misery at Orlando Pirates.

Former Orlando Pirates striker Kwame Peprah has sunk into yet another setback just months after leaving South Africa.

Peprah made his way to Pirates from Ghana club King Faisal at the start of the 2021/22 season with huge expectations on his shoulders.

His first season delivered nine goals in 38 appearances.

Instead of improving on those figures, he then fizzled out in his second season after the arrival of Jose Riveiro.

Six appearances without a goal in the first half of the 2022/23 season forced him to seek a loan move to Maritzburg United, where he scored once in 14 appearances.

After that, Peprah was offloaded at Pirates, then spent time in Israel with Hapoel Hadera, where a proposed move didn’t happen, before ending up at Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters.

With Blasters, the 23-year-old was without a goal until his eighth game in November but then went to have four to his name at the end of the year.

Just when it looked all promising, Peprah found himself struck with an unfortunate injury at the beginning of the year.

That groin injury was initially thought of as being short-term but will now keep him out for the rest of the season.

In his absence, Peprah’s club has lost their way in the Indian Super League, falling from top of the standings to fifth place after losing six of the seven games that he has missed.

Peprah will still have another year on his contract at the end of the current season.
