Former Moroka Swallows head coach Steve Komphela has raised a red flag about a signing at the club that could get them in trouble with the PSL.

Swallows reorganized the team since December last year after terminating the contracts of all the players and renegotiated with some after the chaos of not honouring fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.

The Birds reportedly conducted trials after they lost other players and signed new players such as Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Letsie Koapeng, who both debuted against Polokwane City this past weekend.

The Soweto giants also handed Burkinabe midfielder Roland Sanou his debut against City, in a 1-0 loss.

Komphela has revealed that Sanou was actually signed at the beginning of the season from Cape Town City on loan but they could not play him after he was not properly registered by team manager Elasto Kapowezha.

The former Kaizer Chiefs coach says he was shocked to see Sanou play against Rise and Shine and is fearful that he might not be properly registered.

"He came to us on loan, we asked Elasto to sign this player, get him registered as a foreigner. We played all the matches (of the first round), we couldn't (register him)," Komphela revealed on 947's MSW.

"He said there's a mistake that occurred, the letterhead when we registered him was still Swallows FC. That player since the beginning of the season, first round ended he had not been registered, because he had been improperly registered under Swallows by a guy who knows exactly this is Moroka Swallows, not Swallows FC.

"But who's going to account for that? Who's going to be fired? I was shocked to see (Sanou) play when we played against Polokwane City, he went there as a sub. I haven't spoken to my colleagues at Swallows. I don't know (if he's properly registered). That scares me," he warned.

Sanou was initially signed by City as a replacement for Brice Ambina, who was due to move overseas but the deal fell through and head coach Eric Tinkler offered him to Swallows on loan, as they did not have a foreign spot.

A club can be docked points in matches they fielded an improperly registered player or receive a monetary fine.
